The botanical gardens at Sunset Ranch are home to a variety of native and non-native flora and fauna, including many varieties of native Hawaiian Ferns (Fern’s Garden). Our site tours currently include a visit around the estate and through our botanical gardens. We’re excited to share that the ranch also works closely with Waimea Valley (www.waimeavalley.net) to advance forest restoration efforts in the mauka regions of the valley.

We have three primary objectives for our botanical gardens and forest restoration efforts at Sunset Ranch: (i) Education: provide a unique interactive experience that educates visitors and the community on Hawaiian culture, native versus non-native species, and the importance of land conservation; (ii) Restoration: eradicate invasive species and reintroduce native Hawaiian plants; and (iii) Authenticity: provide a fun and authentic experience to visitors and local community residents.
